Campaigns

These are usually reserved for people who have been here for some time. Campaigns occur regularly so if you wish to be part of one simply be active on the server and express that interest to DM's not currently running campaigns.

Text Adventures and Text Channels

You will notice we have several IC chat channels. Those are for IC only.

We have channels like the tavern where people meet and greet and there are the Text DNDC's channels as well where play by post games happen constantly.

To standardise the typing in the IC chats all participants need to abide to the following rules.

  1. Have the character you are writing as in brackets of your name

  2. For speaking as your character use  " "

  3. For performing an action use * *

  4. For writing with your character use ^ ^

  5. For telepathy use <,>

  6. For whispering use []

  7. For OC talk use (,)

Player Notice Board channel

This channel is an In-Character channel where Characters can post notices for all manner of things. This is a great place to try and find a reason to meet your friends character or to interact with characters you have not done before, who knows what might happen? The only rules for the format is that it needs to be written in character voice.

Player Factions channels

You can only visit these places if you find them in a session or you have been granted access through whatever means of transport are available. You should know there are many player factions around and that you could yourself one day create one, however if you pledge to another faction you become tied to the stories of that faction, do so with awareness of your responsibilities.

Private IC’s channels

Those who use it are the only ones present unless the DM running the text adventure is specifically allowing somebody else in.

Non-Private IC’s channels

Anyone can jump in on the RP happening in there if in a public spot, anyone can ask the DM to be dropped in if in a more private spot. Please respect the wishes of the DM and what story he/she is trying to tell.

How to get into a game

In Teresyum we have multiple ways one can play D&D. Here I will tell you about these different game modes and how to go about joining a game. For Teresyum always think - Giant World with many adventures going on at the same time. Max group size 1-6

DNDC

Easiest way to think about DNDC is sort of mini-campaigns where you can explore new locations or go on longer adventures in recurring DNDC's with the same crew, once it's ended you part ways keeping EXP, Items and character development and head over to another one.

DNDC are open games which means anyone can join them, as long as they fulfil the requirements, if any, stated in the announcements. Whenever there is a new game it will be posted in the #announcements channel. Read it carefully and the go to the #DNDC channel and sign up using this format:

| Banking Sheet Name | Character | Class or Classes | Subclasses| Level | Alignment | Roles |+ any additional info requested in the announcements.

There are many types of DNDC's. From Exploration DNDC's where parties adventure and unlock new places to explore, new places to adventure, new NPC's and many other surprises for the entire community. To Short Adventures that focus on a couple sessions to take an adventure to completion. Storyline - connected and branching story with an over-arching plot. World Events - Events that influence the entire server as a whole. Finally, Random Adventures - exactly like the name.

  • If the type of DNDC is not included in the announcement simply ask the DM running it

There are three main way players are selected:

  1. Random submission (Set time in which sign ups occur and everyone gets a number, once the sign ups end numbers are rolled to determine who gets in)

  2. Role Submission: the DM announces the positions in the party, example: Back or Front line DPS, Healer, Support, Tank, Skillmonkey, Face. And the first to sign up properly that fulfils that role takes the slot of that player. It is up to DM/GM to decide if your character can fufill more than one role. Within the game announcement players must be told to assign a tag they think fits their character.

  3. Story Time: These games are player oriented games. These are usually run for control characters or for story-lines. There is always a story reason to reserve slots for this/these character(s). This may either be one character or a group for a story they may be pursuing. If there are still slots open past those that are be reserved, the rest are random rolled using the random submission selection.

DNDC Numbers: You, by default, have one number at minimum, these are used to determine your chance of being selected for the game. If you do not get into a game, you get a bonus number. Additionally, you gain an additional bonus number every week you have not played. The max amount of bonus numbers you can have is two. When you get into a DNDC game you lose any bonus numbers you have even if you forget to use them. The bonus numbers are player based, not character based. Weekly campaigns stop you from gaining an additional bonus number for every week you have not played. If you go a week without playing, ping a banker to add your number. If you do not ping a banker, your number will not be added.
