Teresyum Herald - Issue II

Party In the Sky

If you participated at Sommal's Party this week you will know things are starting to heat up. It seems like the infamous Zyg's Tower, who up until now, has operated pretty much under the radar have chosen to announce themselves. Not only that but this humble reader had the pleasure to see many important faces at the party. The Allai'wen Elves even arrived with an Immortal, Omega, but it did not seem like anyone engaged with them at all. The Astra Elf with it's blue skin and golden eyes, Unit Elevation, it called itself, was an interesting character. If I were an adventurer I would definitely be interested in their story. Long story short the party was a great success, the entertainment was a fierce clash of musical titans and a performer who knocked the socks off everyone in the room with his amazing swordsmanship skills, i believe they called him Mask.

After the entertaintment was over Rebar, seemingly the current leader of The Travellers and a woman called Mrs. Kaplan declared their alliance and their intent to take part in the shaping of Teresyum's future. The other factions took this very seriously, no word from any of the representatives of any of the elven factions and even the Human Kingdoms Alliance representative Emperor Octavian Augustus only gave a brief smile. I believe interesting things are coming our way and that soon we shall find out more.

No news on the giant hole in the sky but you can see it better if you wish now, the Adventurer's Guild in the City of Fireflies (Capital of Lyal'dream) have installed an additional Teleporter courtesy of Zyg to take people directly to Traveller's Rest on the Eye of the Storm.

A Special day for Crafters

The first act of the Travellers and their little town, after the alliance was made official, was a special event for Crafters in the Guild or those who have heard of their small establishment. For an entire day Chross and Rebar, both Travellers, alongside their master Hanza Hazanui, a G'nai Grandmaster, tried teaching people how to create the items they so desperately need for the perilous journeys which they have ahead of them. They asked this humble writer that if any other Crafter out there did not manage to make the journey to Travellers Rest during that time, to tell them that all three of them will be available to help. The event seems to have been a great success with Rebar, the current governor of Traveller's Rest, who has been very busy as his line was stretched thinner than anyone else. It was an interesting first move from the Travellers, this writer cannot wait to see what happens next.

A walk into the past

After hearing word of a post mortem message from Ga'raaduul, a close friend of Joey's, through another friend of Ga named Noelle (formerly Silva) and  he was stricken with rage and headed further into the city of lyal's dream. Closer to the poorer district he grew up in, where he met a roaming band of thugs demanding fidgets in return for "protection". Instead of taking them up on their offer for protection he scared them off so he can continue in peace, until his familiar Aurelon heard one of them mention that the way he is heading was not quite safe. It turns out, that from the recent crisis in Teresyum with the Breach opening on The Eye of the Storm,  that the small thugs and mobs within the poorer districts are fighting because of the chaos. Taking in this information, Joey heads to an old tavern he remembers from his childhood, hoping it's still there.

Upon entering the tavern he sits in a booth and looks around seeing the current patrons in the tavern, he orders some food and water then heads to the bar and he strikes up conversation; reminiscing about old time at the tavern before becoming an adventurer. From his first job at the tavern to repaying the debts he incurred after having a couple too rowdy knights and damaging some of the tavern. Joey is allowed to clear out his old room in the tavern after messing with some of the bar patrons. However not wanting to be suspicious he magically his small pseudo-dragon familiar into something more humanoid so he can tell some tall tales of their adventures as he cleans up.

As he cleans his former room he finds a hidden cache within it holding an old photo of the tavern keep, his wife... and his son who appeared reminiscent of Joey himself, as he realized this he shed some tears at the loss of the happy family that could have been there. Eventually after clearing things out he returns to the rest of the tavern when Aurelon  transformation finished. With the information he found in his old room he and the tavern keep starting talking about how and why he let joey in, and why this mattered to him. Joey eventually leaves the tavern through invisibility and the story ends with a wish from the tavern keep that he would like to see Joey again, hoping he will visit again.

The Friendly Forest Flesheater

What are adventurers without giant horrible monsters to kill?

A small group of adventurers decided to go on a little trip to the forest close to the city of fireflies, after hearing two higher plates discuss the hidden treasures, wonders and loot. They geared up and left for the forest. Upon arrival they spotted a creature, the wizard Relwa immediately recognising the thing as a  Fraulorn Fleshtearer, a creature known for tearing limbs off even the grandest warriors. The fighter, Ashen readied himself for combat, but not everyone was so smart, Asher decided to pull out a hunk of meat, instantly exposing them to the monstrous beast. Luckily the Firbolg Druid, Zyl, was ready for a fight and took some of the first hits, instantly being paralysed. Whereas another wizard, who goes by the name Leta, started firing off Bolts of energy at the creature. Eventually they were able to damage the monster enough that it had to flee, but a sweet victory it was not, the injuries were grave. After healing themselves up the party bickered about it for almost an hour and only when a talking log called Stump told them about a cool plant close by they decided to move on. Of course the collection went flawless, but the distribution not as much, as one of the party members decided to take a bit extra, just in case.

Adventurer's Confessions

This is a heartwarming story of an Adventurer's visiting his roots.  Don't forget where you came from adventurers, or you will lose sight of who you are.

Saved by Adventurers

As all adventurer stories are, when you want to figure out who the adventurers are, you just look for the weirdest lot in the place.

“I come from a small village on the border of Estria and Lyal’Dream. For several months, the town had been terrorized by a tribe of bandits. Not only were these bandits ruthless and merciless, but their leader was without a doubt the most annoying person I have ever met. Recently, I was taken prisoner by the bandits, and forced to listen to this leader’s grating, nearly unbearable laughter. After only a few days, I was driven half mad by hearing him speak in his awful voice for hours on end.

I was saved from this torment by the arrival of a group of adventurers led by a mighty, virtuous warrior in black armor. From my cage I watched in awe as these heroes battled the bandits, their leader, and his pet dragons. One of them convinced one of his foes to surrender, while another turned invisible and fought the leader with a rapier. One of the adventurers had some sort of contraption that he used to fry the bandits, though I did also see him beat one over the head with it. I thought all was lost when the warrior fell after receiving a knife in the gut from the bandit leader, but then I saw him stand up and hit the bandit leader so hard with a war hammer that he exploded. These were without a doubt the bravest people I’ve ever seen, even though I’m pretty sure they had a whore with them for some reason."

And of course for the end we have kept this enigmatic prophecy a wandering Diviner told our humble writer and a couple dozen other adventurers, sounds promising.

A Diviner's Prophecy

In five moons' time, in halls of stone & pain of past. Darkness shall meet the stars, one triumphant. When a beast falls, shadows grow and planes align. And mortals step beyond their realm, he will reign on high.
